frances . . .

We think this chair looks wonderful in our
"frances" fabric  . . .
It is always heartening to see beloved family pieces or furniture
picked up at garage sales given a new lease on life - the ultimate in
"environmentally friendly" design . . .

If only those old pieces could talk!

Below . . . taken from the same incredible remodel . . .
These photos were sent to us by architect Kim Clements
of JAS / Design Build here in Seattle.

a few more pictures below of "frances" . . .
from "The Dixon Group" at the Seattle Design Center . . .

Do you have a wonderful piece in your life that needs recovering?

Tour of Architects - a Bainbridge aesthetic

The . . .
Tour of Architects

is coming to Bainbridge Island this weekend!
Two of the projects on tour are sponsored by our friends, and very talented couple,
Trina and Marc LaRoche.

Here is a glimpse of the "Seaborn House" designed by Marc's firm . . .
Marc LaRoche - Architects.

It is fitting that it fits seamlessly into its natural, sun-filled surroundings . . .

Trina is a wonderful and very talented interior designer! We love her ability to successfully mix
modern elements with stylish Pacific Northwest details here in a such a warm
and approachable manner . . .

The tour will be a lot of fun and donations go to support three local organizations
(Bainbridge Island Performing Arts, Housing Resources and Helpline House).

Hope to see you there . . .

enjoy!!

Bainbridge Island . . .

We are fortunate to live and work on a beautiful little island . . .

in the Puget Sound . . .

a stepping stone linking Seattle . . .

and the lush Olympic Peninsula with its snow capped mountains . . .

verdant rain forests . . .

. . . and salmon streams.

Ours is a unique blend . . .

of city and rural cultures . . .

sensitive to our environment . . .

and holding family ties and traditions dear.

Our island has provided the inspiration for the colors and textures in the patterns and weaves of our textiles.

Stop by often for a visit to our little piece of heaven!

Egg & Dart, Ltd. Window Display (Denver, Colorado)

We took a trip to Denver in mid-December to visit one of our showrooms . . .

Here is a quick look at the design concept for a front window display including a
custom "cool mist" paint color for the peg wall.

Here is the concept vision . . .

We love the way our fabrics work so well with their other fabric lines in the showroom . . .
including Cowtan & Tout, Ralph Lauren and (Mikhail Pietranek) by Gaetano . . .

Below are the Bainbridge Blues fabrics that we are using for this installation . . .

The window display will also include . . .

Cowtan & Tout (11054-03) "Edenwood" red, blue linen

Ralph Lauren (LFY60458F) "Ice House Stripe Barn"

Gaetano (Mikhail Pietranek) "Manhattan-05" (terra-cotta)

On our visit, we also discovered an incredible carpet collection by
Mitchell Denburg
made of 100% natural fibers (wool, sisal, cotton . . .)

The samples are amazing!!!

The Dixon Group . . .

The very first "to the trade" showroom
that represented our Bainbridge Blues' fabrics in 2009 was . . .

The Dixon Group

It is an absolutely wonderful design showroom and is located at the Seattle Design Center . . .
just south of downtown Seattle.

It has always been one of our favorite showrooms due to their great furniture and fabric lines . . .
a welcoming and knowledgeable staff . . . and professional service to top it off.

Here are a few photos of their beautiful showroom . . .

The Dixon Group has always carried some of our very favorite fabric lines . . .
such as Cowtan and Tout and Calvin to name a few - as well as quality furniture lines such as . . .
The Farmhouse Collection, Charles Pollock and others . . .

Here is a wonderful Farmhouse Collection bed made up with some Bainbridge Blues fabrics as well as . . .
a great tan-plaid pillow made from a 100% linen fabric from Ralph Lauren.

The fabric panels on the bed are made from our "Katie" fabric and have been tied with . . .
a light-blue linen fabric from Calvin. We think they work beautifully together!

The Farmhouse Collection also makes this wonderful foot stool!

Here is one of our very favorite Charles Pollock chairs. It has an option for a fantastic
magazine pocket on the sides for your favorite magazines . . . "luxe" (shown above) being one of our current favorites!
Here at Bainbridge Blues . . . we have nick-named it "The Magazine Chair" . . .
and we think it is one of the best chairs ever!

We love the wood details and especially the rush seat on this particular piece . . .

and their wood finishes are absolutely amazing!!

Here on the Charles Pollock Country Rush Settee . . .
the Bainbridge Blues "Katie" (cream and brown bird) is shown with . . .
pillows made from a Cowtan & Tout (floral) as well as
a wonderful Ralph Lauren (blue check) fabric.
The Settee itself is upholstered in the "Frances" (cream and brown check) from Bainbridge Blues.

Here is our Bainbridge Blues peg wall.
These extra-large pieces of fabric are useful for designers and their clients to touch, feel . . .
and drape over furniture pieces while visiting the showroom
or they can be borrowed for client meetings, etc . . .

There is also a Bainbridge Blues' concept board . . . for ideas and inspiration!!

For more information on the above fabrics and furniture . . .
please contact The Dixon Group directly . . .

Welcome . . .

We want to welcome you to the Bainbridge Blues' Blog . . .

We are so glad you have stopped by for a visit . . . and we look forward to showing you a bit
of our textile world in which we work and sometimes play . . .
the fabrics . . . the process . . . the showrooms . . . and more . . .

We hope you stop by from time to time and see what we are up to . . .

Here is a sampling of our textile collection made from natural fibers, designed here on
Bainbridge Island . . . and woven in Italy!

The fabrics have a traditional, yet fresh color palette, a wonderful hand . . .
and an old-fashioned vintage charm.  They are sold by the yard (2 yard min.) to the design trade
through select designer showrooms . . .

Currently the fabric line is represented by 5 design showrooms in the US and Canada . . .
